Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Hard luck is written by Jeff Kinney that forms to be the eighth book in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series. Released on November 5, 2013, this children's book exists at the end of the preceding book in the series, The Third Wheel. Released in the United States, this book came out with a 5.5 million copies and on November 6 in the United Kingdom, leading to a printing of 800,000 copies. The plot of this book begins with Greg Heffley, who is abandoned by his best friend Rowley Jefferson for his new girlfriend Abigail. This book is about Greg's sorrows and the difficult turn of events faced by him when he realizes that he has lost his friend for a girl. Throughout the book he understands that guy and girl friendships are different. While at the end, the question is asked whether Greg and Heffley will become friends again or not.
