The story follows the adventures of a group of adventurers led by Allan Quatermain. They search of an unexplored region of Africa for the missing brother of one of the party. It is the first English adventure novel set Africa. King Solomon is the Biblical king renowned both for his wisdom and for his wealth. The book is the first examples of the lost world tradition.
